The UEFA Champions League (often simply referred to as the Champions League), also known as the UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) Champions League, is a European football competition held annually. Each European country is eligible to enter one, two, three or four teams, depending on their previous performance (with the exception of Liechtenstein, which does not have a national football league and can only field a team in the Conference League). The teams qualify by winning their respective national leagues (or finishing second, third or fourth).

The winner of the Champions League advances to the UEFA Super Cup final, where they play the winner of the Europa League, and also qualify for the FIFA Club World Cup.
