Arrizabalaga was a member of the Spanish U-19 team that won the 2012 European Championship. He started every match during the tournament,and saved two penalties in the penalty shootout after a 3–3 draw with France in the semi-final. He missed the 2013 U-20 World Cup due to injury, where he was replaced by Rubén Yáñez. He made his debut for the U-21 team on 8 November 2013, where he made 22 appearances.
He was called up to the senior Spain team for the first time on 22 March 2017, following an injury to Pepe Reina. He made his debut on 11 November, starting in a 5–0 friendly win over Costa Rica.
